This initiative is a collaborative effort between the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and IndusInd Bank.The objectives of the scheme include (1) empowerment of 60,000 rural youth (2) focus on digital skills and (3) partnership with NSDC and IndusInd Bank.Integrating ‘Skills on Wheels’:Customized Mobile Skill Training Unit: Customized buses have been retrofitted with state-of-the-art equipment and technology to reach the country’s remotest corners. This mobile unit will act as the flagship of the ‘Skill India Mission’, named ‘Skills on Wheels’.Broad Geographical Coverage: ‘Skills on Wheels’ will launch tours in ambitious and backward districts covering a wide geographical area. This strategic approach aims to provide free skill training.Changing trajectories through skill training: This initiative recognizes the power of skill training in changing the lives of young people. By offering robust training programs, it aims to provide the youth with the knowledge and skills they need to secure a better livelihood.Closing the Skill Gap:Industry-Related Skill Training: The main objective of the initiative is to enable a significant number of youth to pursue industry-relevant skill training. This training will not only enhance their theoretical knowledge but also equip them with practical skills which are in demand in the job market.Matching passions and skills: ‘Skills on Wheels’ seeks to bridge the gap between industry needs and unemployed youth. It will accomplish this by helping candidates identify suitable courses based on their educational background, aptitude, and skills.
